The meaning hasn't shifted. the words "woke" and "awake" still mean what they meant 100 years ago. Folks like Bethany Mandel who are trying and FAILING to shift and stretch the meaning of a really simple term are hilariously inept as they try to turn it into a bogeyman. Being wide awake is good unless you're awfully short on sleep. Let's do better.
